A test drive for a good cause

Test a Mazda vehicle and help Harwood Soccer Committee achieve its goal of providing Harwood School students with a synthetic soccer field.

Mazda Canada and Mazda 2-20 Ile-Perrot come together to support a mobilizing project for Vaudreuil-Dorion community with the Mazda Community Road Test event*.

On September 28th, local citizens are invited to Harwood School to test a vehicle from the Mazda lineup. For each road test conducted (1 per family), Mazda Canada will contribute $ 20 to the Harwood Soccer Committee, up to $ 5,000. The purpose of this committee of parents is to provide the schoolyard with a synthetic soccer field that will benefit children and families in the area.

"We are thrilled to take this opportunity to help the Harwood Soccer Committee," said François Gaumont, co-owner of Mazda 2-20 Ile-Perrot. This event truly enables the entire community to get involved and provide support! "

The event will start at 10am and finish at 4pm. Several 2019 Mazda vehicles with the latest SKYACTIV technology will be on site. Members of the Mazda 2-20 Ile-Perrot team will be there to provide more information on each vehicle.

To participate, just go to Harwood School (186 8th Avenue, Vaudreuil-Dorion) on September 28th, between 10am and 4pm.

Encourage healthy lifestyle

Harwood Elementary School is one of the largest in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges area. Nearly 585 students attend.

Every year, in the spring or after a sustained downpour, part of the schoolyard becomes full of mud. Noting this situation, the director Manon Brazeau suggested to the school board at the start of the 2018-2019 school year to set up a campaign for the installation of a synthetic soccer field in the yard.

Quickly, a dozen parents embarked on the project, and formed the Harwood Soccer Committee. Over the months and funding activities, more and more community members, including the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion, contributed to the project. The committee aims to raise the necessary funds and proceed with the construction in 2020.

*Participants must have reached the age of majority and be in possession of a valid driver's license. Contributions will be limited to one per household. All road tests will last from seven to ten minutes.
