When Mazda introduced the Mazda3 to the market more than 10 years ago, the Japanese manufacturer truly hit a home run.
Indeed, its new compact car that aimed to replace the venerable Mazda Protégé was immediately noted for its sporty driving behavior, refined style and quality interior. Thirteen years later, the 2017 Mazda3 continues to stand out for these same reasons, and several others as well.
Several changes for the 2017 Mazda3
Now in its third generation, the 2017 Mazda3 receives several improvements this year that make the Japanese compact more comfortable, more refined, and more affordable. On the other hand, Mazda did not want to change a winning recipe too much, and that is why some elements, such as the engine lineup, are unchanged.
Visually, the new 2017 Mazda3 features a new front bumper and new headlights while inside, Mazda improved overall quality in terms of craftsmanship and the materials used in creating the interior. The infotainment system was improved as was the head-up system’s display.
There are two versions of the 2017 Mazda3 available to consumers, the Mazda3 sedan starting at $ 15,900, and the Mazda3 Sport hatchback offered starting at $19,550. That said, Mazda has significantly modified the equipment offered in the different versions to offer better value to potential buyers.
For example, the mid-range model now benefits from high-end equipment such as a heated steering wheel and a blind spot monitoring system, in addition to heated seats and city braking assist system, all for only $ 20,300. The GT model available starting at $ 24,000 adds dual-zone air conditioning, LED headlights, and 18-inch wheels, and gets a more powerful engine.
The new Mazda3 also gets G-Vectoring Control technology, which is included as standard on all versions of the 2017 Mazda3. The system uses the engine’s torque to reduce body movements at low speeds and stabilize the car both in the city and on the highway. The end result is a greatly improved level of comfort.
Two fuel-efficient SKYACTIV engines
With its SKYACTIV technology, Mazda offers two engines that are both powerful and fuel-efficient. The first is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that develops 155 horsepower and 150 lb.-ft. of torque, while the second is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower and 185 lb.-ft. of torque. In both cases, driver’s will benefit from an average fuel consumption rating of fewer than 8.0 liters per 100 kilometers. Come and discover the all-new 2017 Mazda3 today at Mazda 2-20!
